Connaissances
Without using any reference tools as traditional dictionaries or online types of dictionaries or lexicons and after an analysis of a content relating to the scientific and/or biomedical field in particular, mainly informative and/or argumentative, delivered in written and/or audiovisual form (headings, scientific articles, press articles, specific and specialized journals or papers, instructions (for any use in a wet or dry laboratory) illustrations, conversations, examples of lectures,….) the student must be able to show that he /she understands that content in French or English and must also be able to translate a piece of information / a text / a paragraph into French.
In terms of knowledge, the objectives are focused on learning specific and scientific vocabulary linked to the field of Biomedical science.
Aptitudes

In terms of ability, the student must be able to better his/her 5 linguistic skills following the CEFR levels.
Compétences
Without using any reference tools as traditional dictionaries or online types of dictionaries or lexicons and after an analysis of a content relating to the scientific and/or biomedical field in particular, mainly informative and/or argumentative, delivered in written and/or audiovisual form (headings, scientific articles, press articles, specific and specialized journals or papers, instructions (for any use in a wet or dry laboratory) illustrations, conversations, examples of lectures,….) the student must be able to show that he /she understands that content in French or English and must also be able to translate a piece of information / a text / a paragraph into French.
After the 24 hours of the whole English sessions, the student will have bettered the knowledge of the specific and scientific vocabulary and the 5 linguistic skills following the CEFR.
The student will have to go through the reading, analysis and translation of texts, audio tracks and videos in the technical/scientific field expressed in a standard English (American or British or even coming from another community or country) using technical/scientific vocabulary (press articles, specialized magazines, instructions, manuals, lab protocols, videos, ....). The student will also be asked to study or revise basic English & grammatical structures. The student will do some vocabulary exercises and will be asked to build up a basic scientific lexicon.
